Who We Are
We are a non-denominational assembly. We are autonomous in our fellowship and answer to no human organization, synod or ruling body. We are however a part of a large number of similar Restoration Movement Churches under the name "Churches of Christ" and "Independent Christian Churches" with the same goals and desires.
Our goal is to restore the church to its New Testament example as seen in the scriptures. Our desire is to unite all Christians as one who adhere to and submit to Gods written word as their only rule of faith and only test of fellowship. We say we are Christian only but at the same time recognize we are not the only Christians.
We have no Creeds of men or human body but use only the scriptures as our rule of faith.
Frequently Asked Questions
What Denomination are you?
We do not belong to any denomination at all. We are simply an independent group of Christians committed to serving the Lord. But while we do not have any obligation to an agency or denominational hierarchy, we are affiliated with other independent churches known as "Christian Churches/Churches of Christ."
What does your Church believe?
To put it simply, we believe the Bible. We teach that the Bible is the authoritative, inspired Word of God. And therefore we make it our goal to teach and practice whatever truths the Bible sets forth. Take our doctrine of Christ as just one example. We teach simply what the Bible reveals about Jesus... That He is the virgin-born, divine Son of God who died for our sins, rose from the dead, and will return for eternity.
Why do you have Communion Each Sunday?
This is just another example of our desire to follow the pattern we find in the Bible. Acts 20:7 tells us that the early church gathered together on the first day of the week to break bread. So we continue this pattern by offering the Lord's Supper every Sunday to every Christian believer.
What are your views on Baptism?
Here again, we want to emphasize what the Bible has to say. We want to stand alongside Jesus and His apostles in expecting immersion as the norm for every believer. Or, as Peter said in the first gospel sermon, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38)
How does one become a Member?
Our members are people who have expressed their faith in Jesus Christ, who have been baptized by immersion, and who are committed to grow and serve in this body of believers. Usually, we offer an opportunity at the end of the worship service for people to step forward, who express a desire to accept Christ as their Savior or to become members of this Church. If you have questions about this or any matter in which we could assist you, please get in touch with one of our leaders.
Statement Of Faith
We believe in one God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Matthew 5:16, 45; 6:1, 4, 8, 9; James 1:17; John 1:1, 4:24, 14:9,16-20; Genesis 1:2; 2 Peter 1:21)
We believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of all things visible and invisible.
(Genesis 1:1; Acts 17:24-28; Hebrews 11:3)
We believe in Jesus Christ, God's one and only Son, my one and only Savior,
(John 1:14, 3:16; 1 John 4:9; 2 Peter 3:18)
Who was born Jesus of Nazareth, both fully human and fully divine, conceived of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
(Matthew 1:18, 21:11; John 1:14, 19:19; Romans 5:15-17; Colossians 2:9; 1 John 1:1; Luke 1:26-38)
Who suffered and was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
Who died and was buried, and Who rose again bodily from the dead on the third day,
(Luke 23:44-24:8; John 20:24-29; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8)
Who ascended into Heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father,
(Luke 22:69; Acts 1:1-9; Colossians 3:1)
and Who will return to earth to judge both the living and the dead.
(Matthew 24:36-42; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:10-11; 10:39-42; 1 Peter 4:5)
We believe in the Holy Spirit, Who is an active and operative part of the triune God,
(John 16:5-15; Acts 1:7-8; Romans 8:26-27)
and Who indwells every Christian.
(1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; 2 Timothy 1:14)
We believe in the Bible and God's Holy Word, Scripture. I believe God inspired the autographs (original writings) of the Scripture and those autographs were consequently without error.
(Mark 12:36; John 14:26, 16:12-15; Acts 1:16; 1 Corinthians 2:12-13; 2 Timothy 3:14-16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
We accept the Bible as the final authority for all matters of faith and practice.
(Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 5:18; 24:35; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 4:12)
We believe the Bible teaches that man, created by God, willfully sinned against God and is consequently lost and without hope apart from Jesus Christ.
(Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23)
We believe the Bible teaches that salvation and the forgiveness of sins is achieved only by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ.
(Matthew 26:28; Romans 5:9; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 John 1:7)
We believe the Bible teaches that one receives God's grace by putting faith in Christ, repenting of sin, confessing Christ, and being immersed into Christ, but that none of these is sufficient in and of itself for the assurance of salvation.
(Romans 5:1-2, 6:1-7, 10:9; Luke 24:45-47; Acts 2:38, 3:19; 17:30; 2 Peter 3:9; Matthew 10:32; Philippians 2:11; 1 John 4:15; Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21)
We believe in the Church of Jesus Christ, founded on the Day of Pentecost and consisting of all Christians everywhere.
(Matthew 16:13-18; Acts 2:14-47)
We believe the Bible teaches that the Elders are to exercise authority over the local congregation. That they have been gifted and called by the Holy Spirit to preach, teach and protect from false teachings and to Pastor the flock entrusted to their care.
(Acts 20:28; Philippians 1:1; 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4)
What We Believe
Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, who died for our sins and arose from the dead, and will one day return in Physical and bodily form to redeem His church and judge the world.
(1 Corinthians 15: 1-8; John 3:16; Acts 1:9-11)
The Bible is the inspired word of God - a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.
(2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:105)
Every person has worth as a creation of God, but that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
Forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to all those who trust Christ as Savior and Lord. (John 3:16)
Those accepting Christ should repent of sin, confess their faith, and be baptized into Him, for the forgiveness of sin, to receive the Holy Spirit and to be raised in new life in Christ.
(Romans 10:9; Acts 2:38 Romans 6: 1-12)
The Church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit and exists to evangelize the lost and edify the saved. (Ephesians 4:1-16)
Jesus Christ will one day return to earth and reign forever as King of kings and Lord of lords. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
